High-strength, quick-setting compound
- Develops higher strength on setting and optimal strength on drying, minimizing the potential for cracking.
- Available in five popular working-set times to meet industry needs: 20, 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes.
- Packaged in easy-to-carry 30-lb. bags.
ProForm® FasTrack® Setting Compound is a high-strength, quick-setting joint compound that develops high strength within the first hour of application, minimizing the potential for cracks and fractures. One coat of FasTrack Setting Compound is normally all that is required when the surface is to be spray textured.
Spray textures can be sprayed on the treated joint the moment the compound is hard, but not dry.
With this system, a 12' x 60' ceiling can be joint treated with FasTrack, textured, and ready to move in as little as one hour.
FasTrack® Setting Compound was developed for factory-built housing and other applications where speed and strength are critical production factors.
For best results, FasTrack must be used in conjunction with reinforcing tapes such as ProForm™ Paper Joint Tape. For non-textured ceilings, ProForm® FasTrack® Plus Setting Compound is recommended as a finishing coat.
Advantages
- FasTrack Setting Compound develops higher strength on setting and optimal strength on drying, minimizing the potential for cracking.
- Available in six popular working-set times to meet industry needs: 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes.
- Contains no VOC.
- Packaged in easy-to-carry 30-lb. bags.
- When a spray texture is specified for ceilings, the usual second coat of compound can be eliminated. This saves valuable time and labor in assembly line operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the product lumpy after mixing?
Possible reasons for this to occur are:
- Water was added to the setting compound, rather than the compound being added to the water.
- Setting compound was not allowed to soak (for approximately one minute) after the initial mix before remixing was initiated.
Why is the product setting much faster than the advertised range?
Possible reasons for this to occur are:
- Dirty mixing water and/or application tools.
- Excessive mixing of the compound.
- Foreign material (accidentally or deliberately) added to the mixture.
- Mixing water too hot.
Why is the product setting much slower than the advertised range?
Possible reasons for this to occur are:
- Too much water was used.
- Impure water source (dissolved organics in the water generally retard the set time).
- Foreign material (accidentally or deliberately) added to the mixture.
- Water too cold.
- The product was remixed after initial stiffening began.
Why does the product display weak strength?
Possible reasons for this to occur are:
- Too much water was used.
- Foreign material (accidentally or deliberately) added to the mixture.
What is the difference between “Working Time” and “Setting Time”?
Working time refers to the period during which the ProForm setting compound is usable for application. At the end of this time, the material begins to stiffen and can no longer be spread easily. Working time should correspond to the required time for the actual application.
Setting time refers to the time after which the applied ProForm setting compound will become adequately hardened so that another layer can be applied. For manufactured or modular builders, the setting time should match your timetable for moving a floor along the line.
